Urban Fabrics to Eco-Friendly Blue–Green for Urban Wetland Development

In an urbanized world, the sustainability of cities will depend on their form and urban structure. this sense, fabrics that are compact, dense, green, suitable for non-motorized transport methods more environmentally efficient. For purpose contributing new tools to design, planning, nature in residential areas, study characterizes six wetlands Latin American city Concepción (Chile), which is known its blue–green spaces. a wetland city, we model patterns through spatial relationship using statistical regression (OLS—ordinary least squares) with variables density, distance, population, housing, highways, green building permits. shows predominantly low- medium-density fabrics, it not integrated wetlands. fact, was observed areas do take advantage spaces favor proximity, transportation network promotes use cars, leading being inaccessible fragmented. However, as they still surrounded by open abundant vegetation, there highly feasible opportunities future development infrastructure.
